42 Lisboa's new campus opens at Factory Lisbon in the Beato Innovation District
42 Lisboa, considered the best Software Development school in the world, inaugurates its new campus occupying 1200m2 of space in the Factory Lisbon building in the Beato Innovation District, offering capacity for 800 students to learn programming, free of charge, in a vibrant, multicultural and technological ecosystem.

In turn, Gil Azevedo, Executive Director of Unicorn Factory Lisboa, emphasizes that “the arrival of Escola 42 to the Beato Innovation District is a significant step towards establishing this community as an internationally renowned innovation hub. Its innovative and transformative character will create the talent for the future, fundamental for the sustained growth of entrepreneurship and the technology sector in Portugal, in line with the mission of Unicorn Factory Lisboa.”
Through an innovative and gamified method that promotes learning without classrooms, schedules, or teachers, the methodology is based on a project-based and peer-learning experience, greatly enriched by the students' in-person experience on campus.
Since opening its doors in Lisbon in 2021, the school has received over 50,000 applications and 1,500 students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds, with 60 having already completed the course.
The 42 program is 100% free (the school is fully funded by patrons) and does not require an academic background or programming experience. The aim is for candidates to be proactive, curious, creative, dedicated, and enjoy working in a team.
