Inference

INFERENCE brings together journalists, media professionals, and Artificial Intelligence experts to discuss the question: when machines write, verify, and distribute news, what changes in information and journalism?

On September 26th and 27th, Inferência brings together journalists, Artificial Intelligence experts, researchers, politicians, and readers to think about and discuss the future of journalism in the age of AI.

Organized by Shifter, Inferência will consist of two days of debates, conversations, live interviews, and workshops, addressing topics such as the impact of AI on newsrooms, copyright, the data used to train models, media sustainability, and the challenges these technologies pose to democracy and access to information.

The reflections and contributions from the event will also be expanded into a guide dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, Journalism, and Copyright, available in print and digital editions.

Among the first confirmed speakers are Carolina Franco, Daniel Moura Borges, Diogo Matos, Eduardo Santos, Flávia Brito, Flávio Nunes, GC Viegas, João Gabriel Ribeiro, Kenia Pollheim Nunes, Margarida Davim, Maria João Faísca, Mariana Mortágua, Mario Figueiredo, Nuno Artur Silva, Paulo Lopes Silva, Rúben Tiago Pereira, Salomé Leal and Vilma Reis, with more names to be announced soon.
